We’re excited to invite you to an informative parent Zoom session on Wednesday, May 28 at 7:00 PM Central, hosted by Lori Payne, Director of Swimming with American College Connection.
Topic: When Do I Start the College Recruiting Process?
If your swimmer is considering competing in college—or even just exploring the idea—this is a session you won’t want to miss. Lori will be sharing valuable insights on how and when to begin the college recruiting journey, based on data gathered from hundreds of college swim coaches.
A few key takeaways Lori will cover:
• 80% of college coaches plan recruiting 3–4 years in advance
• Girls should start the process at age 13–14; boys at 14–15
• Coaches are actively looking for potential in younger swimmers
• 98% aim to complete recruiting during the early signing period in November
The earlier swimmers get on a coach’s radar, the better. Waiting too long can significantly limit opportunities.
This session will be especially helpful for parents of swimmers in middle school and high school. There will also be time for Q&A, so please come with questions!
