How to Become a Swim Official (Quick Guide)
Interested in becoming a swim official? You can talk with Coach Cody or view the steps below. It’s easier than you think! Here’s the short version of what you need to do:

Register as an Official

Get your club’s registration link (or use this one if you wish to be unattached).

Log in with your own USA Swimming account (not your athlete’s or spouse’s).

Choose Register Member → Register Yourself → Official membership and pay the fee.

Complete Membership Requirements

Background Check (BGC)
-
Athlete Protection Training (APT)
-
Concussion Protocol Training (CPT) – send your certificate to [email protected]

Take the Online Training
-
Foundations of Officiating clinic
-
Stroke & Turn Course
-
Get Deck Experience
-
Apprentice for at least 4 sessions at 2 meets

Ask for an evaluation & submit your self-evaluation

Get Certified
-
Email the Officials Chair once you’ve finished training and deck sessions.
